Laura Q. Pelosi, Partner
LAURA Q. PELOSI is an attorney who concentrates on environmental, health care and education issues. She represents her clients before the legislature and state agencies. Laura is a natural leader and is known for her ability to successfully manage controversial issues with sound strategy and thoughtful execution. Laura is an experienced public servant with a record of leading clients through the regulatory and legislative process. Her experience with regulated entities such as hospitals and nursing homes has proved very valuable as she works with clients to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with regulators.
She joined the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources as an enforcement attorney, representing the State of Vermont in the Environmental Court and briefly served as the Agency’s Policy Director before being appointed Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation. Laura served as Executive Director of the Vermont Health Care Association (VHCA), a nonprofit trade organization for post-acute and long-term care facilities.
Laura worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked on criminal cases under the Clean Air Act, RCRA and the Clean Water Act, as well as civil Superfund cases. Laura is a respected attorney who worked in private practice at Theriault & Joslin, P.C., an insurance defense firm where she litigated cases in both federal and state courts
Laura is a graduate of Vermont Law School, where she received both a Juris Doctor and Master of Studies in Environmental Law. She received a B.A. in Political Science cum laude from Alfred University.
Laura lives with her husband and highly energetic dogs. She is an avid cook, loves long walks, travel and dog training.
